We are comfy & lively and have a great sporting atmosphere. It’s like being at the ground watching the game, when in fact you’re in your local with your mates.
Went for a family meal on a weekday evening before an event in the area. Service was efficient and the food arrived quickly. Really good value for money and definitely one to come back to if we are in the area again.
George Harrison was photographed outside this pub when he was 14 years old and hitchhiking with Paul McCartney!
My friends and i have just had a Xmas lunch. prawn cocktail to start, lots of prawns. Turkey with all the trimmings, excellent value for money. have not had a bad meal yet. congratulations to the chef.
Food is hit and miss. Things vary depending on the day. For example one day the chips were soggy and awful. Another time they were crisp and fluffy. Staff were helpful but didn't seem keen. In need of a makeover.
The Hare & Hounds, Churchdown is a Greene King local pub that also serves food. It was alright, with IPA at £2.50 a pint and food starting from not much more it offers good value for money. It was fairly busy when I visited, a few people enjoying Christmas meals. The food arrived promptly. A couple of items weren't available but what we had was good.
