About us

It boasts a fabulous and well kept one acre garden which has a stream running alongside, plenty of outdoor seating and a unique addition of a Boules pitch to the rear.

In January 2017 Paul & Emma Gibbon took on The Plough Inn. It has since had a sensitive refurbishment which consisted of an entire re decoration of the interior, a bar & kitchen re-fit, refurbishment of toilets and garden works which have included the addition of a small wooden play area for children.

While all the work was desperately needed Paul & Emma have maintained the charm & unique feel of this historical pub. They have now introduced a traditional food offering which centres around a 'Pie Kitchen', serving award winning pies made in the South west as well as a few favorites such as Fish & Chips and their signiture 'Plough'mans picnic which is perfect for sharing in the pretty garden.

Traditional Cider and cask Ales are still a big focus at The Plough, which won CAMRAs cider pub of the year in both 2014 & 2015. The real ales are still served from a small hatch, straight from the casks which are racked at the back of the bar.

The Plough holds two festivals a year, one for cider & one for real ale, both of which are extremely popular and have the addition of live music.

There is a small function room available for hire, seating up to 14 people. It has a TV with a USB point and is ideal for small meetings, coffee mornings and special occasion private dining.

The Plough prides itself on being dog friendly there are plenty of fresh water bowls and even treats behind the bar for your canine companions.

Paul, Emma and the team at The Plough look forward to welcoming you soon.

The food is amazing. Beautifully prepared and so tasty. They have an incredible selection of gluten free food which was great for my young daughter who is coeliac. Highly recommended.

Had a lovely meal with a small party in the pavilion at the back. The bar for drinks beforehand is cosy and welcoming with a real fire. The food was excellent, olives to start, small plate faggot and a wonderful ginger pudding. Good wine, friendly and efficient service. Prices very reasonable for such good quality.

Genuinely had a great experience here. Went for a long walk and come here for food and a warm cosy spot. Sitting next to the fire was delightful and the food was really good. The quality and quantity were well worth it and even the small plates were great. Excellent service throughout. Would recommend for any occasion.

Perfect summer pub with an amazing garden and kid friendly area with views up to the hills. Never eaten here but really want to. Opening hours favour the weekend so check on timings if you visit early in the week. Good beer and cider selection and the place is a lovely mix of modern Vs ancient. I hear there are rooms beyond the 2 obvious ones?!

Stopped for lunch. Brie and smoked bacon with onion marmalade filled ciabatta. Had the skin on fries on the side, with salad too. Hit the spot. Tasty , good portion size and friendly service. Liked eating near a toasty open fire. Could see outside there was a nice beer garden that would be great in the summer.
