Is this the cosiest pub lunch around Cheltenham? Possibly! This 500-year-old eatery does an excellent job of capturing the quintessential Cotswold pub experience. My wife and I came for lunch on Thursday around 3 pm tucked ourselves away in a quiet corner and enjoyed updated classic pub fare that remained approachable and unpretentious. The service was pleasant and not overbearing, and though it was quiet the food was spot on. Sometimes the dining experience in restaurants takes a dip at quiet, odd times of day but that wasn't the case here We'll be returning enthusiastically soon to try more of the menu.

Service was amazing, had a lovely atmosphere and the food was delicious!! A lovely place to take your dog after a walk! Especially liked the detail of the pie coming with a mini beer!!

Wow wow wow, everything about this place and our experience was perfect, even down to the cleanliness of the toilets! We came here with a virgin gift voucher that I’d had for nearly a year, as such we weren’t expecting much in terms of a menu. But even the set menu for my particular package was fantastic! We had delicious food, inc. stone bass, cheese soufflé, lamb roulade all fantastic and perfectly cooked. We then went off the set menu for dessert and additional extras which also did not disappoint. We were sat in the restaurant which had a converted barn feel, but really cosy and had a great atmosphere. Our waiter was amazing, very attentive, extremely friendly and super welcoming, even though service was included we felt we wanted to add more because nothing was too much trouble and he was so passionate about his role and ensuring we had a nice experience. Nothing I could fault about our experience whatsoever!

I’ve been here a few times and it’s one of the loveliest pubs I’ve been to. Excellent food, outstanding service and gorgeous interiors. Modern whilst keeping the traditional pub feel. Inside is cosy and warm perfect for Autumn and Winter and it has a gorgeous garden for the summer. Can’t wait to go back.
