The food , was delicious. Service was undeniable, it was a very busy shift but we got served our food on time. A warm welcome from the start. Me and my partner were thoroughly impressed. I will definitely be returning.

We popped in around Midday on a Sunday on the off chance there was a table free and were very glad there was. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. We sat down in the traditional yet smart pub area that had a contemporary feel. It seemed pretty quiet, but the bustling of the staff showed they were preparing diligently. Just as well as it soon filled up with excited families. We ordered the Wasabi Crab and Langoustines for starters. Prepared and cooked perfectly. I had no problem destroying the Langoustines and soaking the tails in garlic butter. The crab was equally good and subtle on the Wasabi. For main my wife went for the Stuffed Quail Wrapped in Bacon with Sausage & Medjool Date Stuffing which looked exactly as it sounded, but even tastier. I had the Cote De Beouf and due to a bit of confusion on the menu realised I had ordered something I was not going to finish there and then. No problem though, they were very happy to provide a doggy bag for the remaining tender hunks of well seasoned beef and amazing roast potatoes, the vegetables didn't make it as they were so nice not much was left. All in all we were stuffed and glad we stumbled across the Mousetrap Inn. Will definitely visit again when next in the area, but might just have to make a special trip!

I booked the mousetrap for a date. The atmosphere was beautiful and the food was delicious! Great value for money, amazing service by the staff. I asked them if they could source a bunch of flowers from a florist for the table at my expense. They had absolutely no issues doing this. The food and service from The Mousetrap was second to none and we shall definitely be returning! Thank you all!

A great spot for exploring the village, literally a short walk into the centre away. Very small car park, unsure of where you’d park if no spaces left. Rooms are comfy and cosy, perfectly fine for a night or twos stay. Very warm! Shower is adequate once warmed up. Pub itself has good range of tap beers and menu looked good. Breakfast is good, a range of cereals, juices on the bar with a choice of cooked full English and veggie option.

Unfortunately very disappointed. We were a party of 4 and only 1 person was truly satisfied with their meal. I had the Mousetrap burger it was over cooked and not even that tasty. The chips were the best thing. My friend ordered the seafood sub and it looked awful on the plate and he was not happy. At the prices that are being charged the food quality should be way better in my opinion. We did have to wait a while for drinks but the 2 young staff who served us were very nice and polite. I will not return and certainly will not be able to recommend. It’s such a shame that the menu promises a real delight which in fact never appears.
