The Glengower, a traditional seafront pub with rooms on the stunning Aberystwyth promenade.
‘The Glen’ as we are affectionately known by the locals, offers a warm welcome through its doors to locals and visitors alike, attracting people from near and far for its homemade menu of fresh local seasonal food and a great selection of real ales and ciders with most coming from the local area. We are also known to have in stock a whisky or two or over 90 to be a little more accurate!
Our warm and cosy setting means that whatever the weather, the Glengower is the perfect spot to relax, either, out on our stunning sun terrace in the warmer months or next to our open fire during the winter.
Following a recent refurbishment, we are now gaining a reputation as a destination for dining in the town offering a homemade menu of pub classics along with a number seasonal specials often featuring locally caught seafood. All of our dishes are freshly made using local ingredients where possible to ensure quality and freshness in every dish, and hopefully give you a flavour of the local area.
Upstairs sits 16 en-suite bedrooms over three floors, many with a sea view. Our rooms are clean, warm and comfortable and all of our rates include breakfast. Our location offers the perfect seafront inn within easy reach of the town centre.
Sitting within a stone’s throw from the beach, the pub has stunning views over Cardigan Bay and no matter what the season, it’s always the best place to watch the changing tides from calm summer days where the dolphins can often be spotted playing in the shores to the wild winter months when the waves crash down onto the beach below.

Very comfortable bed and really delicious menu! So far, during my stay I have hadTrio of Welsh Lamb and Asian Vegetable & Glass Noodle Tang. Yum. This has been a much needed break and the sound of the waves outside my seaview window has been so therapeutic!
Rooms and hotel showing their age, but right on the seafront. Excellent choice of tap bears but food is poor, everything seems prepared and frozen. Shame the food doesn't match the pride taken with the beer
Very nice pub for a drink or a meal, particularly if you're sitting in the front room. Staff very helpful and friendly, food excellent! The bara brith bread and butter pud was fab! Shame the view of the shore got blocked by a van - problem of being so close to the road! But it didn't spoil the occasion!
Fantastic food and service. Managed to aqueeze us in for Sunday lunch, and it was wonderful! Roaring fire and really lovely atmosphere. The only down for me was just there were so many dogs in there. I'm not a fan of dogs in an eating establishment
