A chance walk in for a meal on Friday night and they thankfully said yes. Definitely worth it. Lovely service. Great food and the most wonderful wine. Thank you.
Lovely restuarant. Had the cod ...very delicious! Rooms were tastefully decorated, clean and warm. Breakfast only served from 09h15, which was a bit dissapointing. But close to the castle, I would return for another stay.
A friend and I meet up at Gilbeys regularly for lunch and enjoy the calm atmosphere and the delicious food. Staff are warm and welcoming - it always feels like a treat to be there. Highly recommend Gilbey's!
Great place for a private function. Had a great experience and was well looked after. An easy booking process with Emma with options offered for a set menu and flexibility to accommodate a few dietary requirements. We had reserved the Gallery Private room for 17 people for my mother's 70th birthday and was a big enough space with access to a private courtyard out the back, which was ideal for the smokers in the group. We were well looked after by Violet and her colleagues and the food and wine and and service were wonderful. Would highly recommend booking Gilbey's for a private function in the future.
We hired the conservatory room for our wedding reception and loved every minute of it! The space is beautiful, the food delicious and the staff very organised, friendly, accommodating and professional. We also hired a musical duo which they were very happy to have in the restaurant. We feel the pricing was also very fair. All of this not only made for a smooth experience but an absolutely wonderful and unforgettable one.
