We visited on a Monday lunchtime. The pub was quiet but soon became busy, which is always a good sign. I would highly recommend the chips! The food was delicious, and the portion sizes were just right. Plus, everything was served hot and fresh. The pub had a great selection of vegetarian and vegan food, which was a pleasant surprise. Additionally, the waffles for dessert were amazing and definitely worth trying. We are definitely planning to come back to this pub again!
My partner and I came for are anniversary stay for one night. The room was nicely decorated, clean and fresh. we had dinner and breakfast which are both delicious. All the staff where very friendly and helpful! We will be returning Thank you to the landlord for making the evening extra special for us.
Stayed for one night arriving on a Sunday lunchtime. Had a excellent Sunday roast 😋 which was plentiful. Our room was clean, quite and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent with amazing choice. Staff were very friendly and helpful and on the ball very attentive. Hopefully be back soon.
Boxing Day meal. We ordered medium rare stakes they arrived well done and very dry. One of the children’s beef burger had to be returned as it was not cooked. When we went to pay we were told that we had to pay for the complete meal yet we paid for the meal before the 3rd of December after paying a deposit of £90 when it was booked in fairness they removed the price of the burger when we paid for the drinks. It was not a good experience and will not be returning.
Fantastic first visit to the George today! Perfect location for a half way meet and incredible food and hospitality! Sally was amazing from the off, nothing was too much effort and she was incredibly warm and welcoming and went the extra mile - you couldn’t ask for a nicer person! A real asset for the pub! Will definitely be back in 2024!
