Stayed for a night ... Find your own parking, pleasant reception, with rooms away from bar across the yard with own entrance. Comfy warm clean room. Unhurried traditional breakfast.
Overall a very nice pub/hotel, room was very nice even if situated next to a Lidl, breakfast in the morning was lovely, slightly overshadowed by smoke alarm going off at 6.30am, manager asked if I had used a deodorant!! I told her that there would be no point in me doing that as I was about to have a shower and would have been a total waste. She was polite enough and again, lovely breakfast.
Staff I met were excellent and service is everything. Breakfast was good and included in the price. It’s not a 4 star ⭐️ hotel. It’s a ‘local’ town hotel now part of a small chain. Some repairs are being carried out on the roof then I’m informed they will be looking at updating other areas. The bedrooms were clean with excellently clean bedspreads and bathroom. It’s a place to sleep. For me… a tiny bit expensive, but for the hotel; maybe not enough with all the costs of today, such as electricity prices. Also not a lot of alternatives in the town. (It is a small former market town, more of a throughway town really!) Would I stay here again… YES. Be aware that parking is close by, but not included in the price. Check out the Lidl parking area for prices. No long term, free daytime parking nearby available either.
Visited this hotel with bed and breakfast in March 2023. Didn't know what to expect. There is no parking on site, but parking is in lidls, or another car park round the corner. Very cheap too. Staff were great, thank you for looking after us. All was catered for. Food was great, so please make sure you dine here. So guys pls come down. Free WiFi which works in the room too. There are local shops which are nice to go and look at too.
Was okay to stay for working away on a budget but not really somewhere I would take the wife. Thought I would of had my own ghost with my room but not really seen anything out of the ordinary. Walk in wardrobe was cramped and the comfort 2000 didn't work lol.
