Had a great meal. The portion was large and so tasty. The staff were so accommodating. Highly recommend.
While staying nearby I stopped here for the evening for dinner. Food was great, as was the staff too. If I'm up this way again i'd gladly stop here! Would highly recommend it to others as well.
Hubby ordered a mixed grill , steak cooked medium well, when food arrived the steak was still mooing , no steak knife so tough going , when he told the staff that his steak was rare not how he'd asked the lad went off, no idea what was going to happen hubby continued to eat rest of meal doing his best to avoid the blood , finally as he had eaten all (bar the steak) out on a little plate comes a second steak , still not cooked brilliantly and I'm sure it's not just me that thinks a steak is part of a meal not the desert as this one turned out to be! Having read some previous reviews, it seems we are not alone in thinking the cook could still do with some training, I say cook cause chef would be a stretch
Bit of a toss up whether a 4 star or a 3 but they made everything ok in the end by offering a free drink. Thanks Emily. Drinks typically Marston good. Hardy’s chardonnay and pint of Pedigree. Food. Ordered classic burger and ultimate spicy burger. The USB was tasty, lots of pulled pork, bacon and cheese with 2 beef burgers. Unfortunately the jalapeños were missing, so no ‘spice’. The classic burger should have been bun, 2 beef burgers, lettuce. 1st attempt came with cheese and bacon. Sent back. 2nd attempt came with only one beef burger plus tomato and bacon. Fries were crispy. One vote for one against. All in all the food (even though some wasn’t exactly what we ordered,) was tasty and the service from Emily exceptional. Without Emily’s great customer service and smile we would only have rated a 3 star
The food was amazing very big portions everything was cooked perfect. The prices were not expensive for the amount of food on the plate. The service was amazing very friendly to everyone. The decor was really nice, gave a proper country pub feel to it. The toilets were very clean. Me and my partner will definitely be going back there again. Could not fault anything, definitely worth a visit. 5*++++++ all that food for £23 😁
