Very nice food. Atmosphere lovely. We had to wait a while for our food, but there was 7 of us. Polite and friendly staff. Would go again.
I was here today with my family and we were looking forward to a lovely meal. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case. I ordered the vegetarian curry - sweet potato and aubergine curry. It was bland and the texture was terrible not a resemblance of a home made vegetarian curry (which you’d expect for the price). More of a microwave meal taste and look to it. The plater we’d ordered prior was measly… not enough of anything and very poor quality. They didn’t have chicken wings so we swapped for scampi. The chips were greasy, the cutlery wasn’t there so we had to take it from the table near us. We were there for an hour or more and we only offered one drink and we’re not offered a dessert… to our relief. I have eaten in many restaurants and the the food here is not what I’d expect for the price. I would not recommend and would avoid wasting money here again, which is a shame as it is a beautiful spot.
Saw Frankly Burgers on Instagram so had to visit! Wow their burgers are sooo good looking and they taste awesome too! Fries are delicious as well and brilliant seasoning. The lovely waitress recommended the tonkatsu chicken wings so we got a large portion to share - they were so crunchy on the outside, moist inside and the sauce! delish!!! - will definitely be trying the tonkatsu chicken burger next time! We look forward to visiting again.
On a whim decided to stop here for lunch part way through a walk. Table service in the garden - lovely Bear Island IPA, halloumi and chickpea salad, chips. Couldn't fault it.
Stopped at the Generals Arms as part of a Boreham / Little Baddow hike with family member, Ken. Friendly atmosphere and really helpful. Enjoyed the 2 pints as well! (with the Covid-19 precautions all in place) Been here before for food and enjoyed that experience. Definitely recommended based on my experiences so far. Thank-you to the landlord and staff.
