About us

Welcome to the Garrick's Head Pub and Dining Room

The Garrick’s Head pub and dining room was the former home of Beau Nash; unsurprisingly, it’s a grand building with stately proportions. Its location next to the Theatre Royal always makes for an interesting and colourful crowd. It is open every day from noon onwards, and lunch and dinner are served in the bar, on the terrace or in the beautiful dining room

The Garrick’s Head’s eponymous house ale is exclusively brewed by Danish master brewer Stig Anker Andersen and is available to take home in addition to being enjoyed from the hand pumps. The pub’s reputation for well-kept ale and cider doesn’t rule out the comprehensive wine and spirits list, with over 20 wines available by the glass and 50 whiskies.

Menus are bursting with fresh, seasonal ingredients and modern British dishes. The bar menu features top-notch pub classics that use the best regional ingredients, while the pre-theatre and à la carte menus are more fine dining in style. Everything is made from scratch, including the burgers and ice cream.

Outside, the spectacular floral displays in the hanging baskets and window boxes on the terrace catch the early afternoon and late evening sun – it is the perfect location in which to sit back and watch the hustle and bustle of Bath go by while enjoying a bite to eat or a glass of something delicious from the bar. Booking is always advisable – especially at the weekend.

Unfortunately due to the nature of the building the inside areas are not wheelchair accessible, however we do serve food and drink outside all year round.

Very decent pub with welcoming staffs. Actually I didn't have so much expectation on pub food but this one is really good. I ordered a fish & chips and my friends ordered steak and burger. All of them are freshly-made, hot and tasty. Would recommend to anyone live in or travel to Bath.

Just cannot fault The Garrick's Head in any way. Might explain why it was packed tonight! Incredible steaks and the whole interior is beautifully decorated for Christmas.

Came here for breakfast as we were staying at the nearby Travelodge. We were here about 20 minutes before the official opening time, but we were in a rush and they were very accommodating, letting us in and taking our order early and getting the food out to us very fast. Had the avocado and egg on sourdough bread which was very nice. Would recommend for a nice breakfast!

Some good points - roast beef is probably the most tender we've ever had, very relaxing outdoor setting, good selection of beers. Could be better - sides on the roast - potatoes a bit dry and gravy had a slight burnt aftertaste. Wagyu burger slightly overcooked, and slaw side was a bit tasteless.

This small pub and eatery is located inside Bath city. They have an open seating where you can spend a lot of time by yourself or your company. The servers are actually wonderful and prompt. You can use the very clean washroom too. We ordered for 2 fish and chips, one flat white coffee, one bread basket The fish and chips were supremely insipid and tasteless sadly. Other than that, everything else was wonderful.
