New(ish) micropub (opened November 2015) on the ground floor of a Grade II listed end-terrace building. The comfortable single room features plain bench seating around the periphery, with cushions, plus high tables.
There is a small raised area (up 1 step) under the shop-style windows, and the plain wood floor gives way to some original red quarry tiles towards the rear, adjacent to the separate small stillage room; the cask stillage is visible through a window. The Gents incorporates an unusual 'keg' urinal!
Current and impending beers, plus ciders/perries, are listed on blackboards. Bottled organic fruit beers (Samuel Smith’s), wines and soft drinks are also available, as are organic pork pies and scotch eggs.
No pub car park, but public pay-and-display car parks are nearby. Some local street parking available in evenings and on Sundays (time limited Mon–Sat daytime). A handy taxi firm is based next door, and other taxi offices are close by.
