Fuel started life as a club night on September 9, 2006 after a local DJ & rock fan realised that there weren't enough places that played the music that he and so many others loved
After outgrowing it's first venue and then surviving the closure of it's second venue, Fuel moved to it's present full-time home on Womanby Street, in the heart of Cardiff's music quarter.
Fuel is now the ONLY dedicated rock & metal venue in Cardiff, providing a hub for all fans of heavy music and carrying on Cardiff's tradition of legendary rock venues.
With a mixture of club nights & live events, Fuel has something for every rock fan!

Fantastic rock club, great amenities with no steps and an accessible toilet at ground level, lovely beer garden for sunny days, average prices for Cardiff and the live music room is excellent. My spiritual home. 😎🤘

Fuel does a lot of things right. It's a great size with a nicely sized outdoor seating area. They have a lot of great drink options including cocktails which are very cheap. The staff including the bouncers are all fantastic. Very much a community in this niche of the city center. There is a Jukebox which is easy to use and switches over to a DJ around 11pm. The only downside is that the toilets can become very undesirable. Particularly for the male toilet: often things are broken and the toilets can become very unclean as the night progresses.
Typical rock bar, right in Cardiff city centre. Great music, friendly service, and a relaxed atmosphere. Decent range of drinks, reasonably priced for the area. Grim toilets, but you can't have it all!
Good traditional rock bar. Love the atmosphere and decor. Yeah the floor is sticky but all the best places are. Great background music. Nice covered outdoor seating area. Good range of drinks. The staff are super friendly and great. If you want a good old rock bar visit here
