About us

In August 2015 we opened a second site in the former Ilkley Gazette offices on Wells Road.

The ground floor and basement of the beautiful Victorian building have been transformed into an eating and drinking emporium complete with a Tasting Room, Delicatessen, and Log Burner.

We are serving up our usual Specialist Beers, Wine, Sherry, Cheeses and Charcuterie. To follow progress please follow us on twitter, instagram or Facebook.

Cheerful staff welcomed us into the half full restaurant and promptly took our order - but it was then v nearly an hour before the food arrived - missing one persons meal. They were delicious toasted sandwiches- but no explanation for how it could have taken so long. They then ‘rushed’ through the missing food - but still another 15 minutes. The young staff were perhaps doing their best so I didn’t have the heart to remove the 10% service charge! Sorry FOH - no idea why it was going wrong but you need to do better than this!

I’m a fan of Friends of Ham, especially the Leeds branch. But felt the food portions were small and wine on this last visit wasn’t great. So all in all felt it was overpriced for what we got. Meat selection was ok regarding the slices for the cost, but £4 for two slices of sourdough with a small pot of olive oil was a bit much imo. Unlikely I’ll be back unfortunately.

Excellent for grazing on charcuterie, cheese and more, can be washed down with a multitude of craft beers and ales available (with some strong Europeans!) or a good selection of wines by the glass and bottle. Plenty of room through to back and down to the basement which would perfect for a small private function. Local favourite with warm vibes.

Nice cosy pub with outside seating, friendly atmosphere, quick service. Beer was tasty. Plenty choice of good quality ham and cheese and you can create your own board with ham and cheese of your taste, serving with sourdough, olives etc.
