Built in 1847 and with no major alterations since 1910 this is one of only two pubs in the huge county of Northumberland currently on CAMRA's National Inventory of Pub Interiors of Outstanding Historic Interest. (See above.). An absolutely marvellous family-run gem of a pub and still "Berwick's Boniest Boozer". Full of character and characters happily returned to the real ale fold in spring 2012. Well worth a visit but note does not open Tuesdays nor weekday lunchtimes. Also if travelling a long distance an advance telephone call could prove useful.
This bar is a real blast from the past. To the door that takes you into the bar, the wooden furnishings and brass tables it was a delight to be here. Great service and a lovely pint of Yorkshire Blonde went down a treat.
Authentic and friendly old style pub. Always on our radar when visiting Berwick. Great pint of Guinness too!
Had great time in this pub quaint and so friendly staff and customers make you so welcome lovely wee place
Fabulous local pub. Brenda the landlady is the heart & soul visit on a few Sunday afternoon when she's at the helm.
BRILLIANT real old pub. It's like going back in time to the 50's! The landlady Brenda is great fun and makes you feel so welcome. Wish I lived near, I'd be a regular. Prices cheap, if not cheaper than Witherspoon's!!
