Very enjoyable day exploring the house and grounds and finding out about the girl guiding history surrounding Foxlease. Wanted to visit before it is sold. Hopefully, it will be renovated and offered to the public and guiding as an activity centre for all to enjoy for years to come. So many amazing opportunities for young people.
A Guiding activity centre that also rents accommodation and pitches to non-guiding visitors. We stayed in the bell tent village. As well as our tent, we had altar fires and a shelter including storage, toilets and showers. Lots of activities available on site and good road links to the New Forest area. Not well publicised, which may be one of the reasons guiding want to sell it, although there is a strong movement among grass roots members of guiding to try and prevent this.
We camped on the site for 4 nights! It was very peaceful and quiet! We know it's possibly not going to be in guiding hands for much longer as that is a real shame! So many on site activities that you can book and a short walk into the local village! Please keep it Girl Guides!
This is such a beautiful place for the girls to get outdoors and make friends. My daughter has been here for a one day event and a weekend stay over and she loves it. Please support them to keep the outdoors protected.
Beautiful site, really well set up with friendly staff. We went for public camping during August. We had our own allocated toilet and shower and everything was impeccably clean. We had a corner of the huge site to ourselves. Would go back there in a heartbeat!
