Our favourite pub in the area. Deben Inns are always a safe pair of hands, and The Fox is especially nice with its modern dining area extension and garden (when the weather allows). The food has never let us down, portions are generous and specials seem to be well thought out instead of an excuse to use up ingredients. Their app often has offers on there too which is a bonus.

Ate from the Christmas menu. Booked for 5, but had 2 no shows, the staff were very understanding and super helpful. I've seen reviews of poor quality veg with roasts on here but found no evidence of this at all on our turkey dinners. The sea bass was lovely - my only suggestion would be that had it been served with an alternative to chorizo it would make a good pescatarian option on the Xmas menu (other than the nut loaf). Maybe capers, or homemade pickles? The scotch egg starter was to die for. Bought half home it was so filling 🤤
Great pub in a great setting with great food on offer too. We walked from the nearby campsite to break up our alcohol fuelled day. We sat outside in the pub garden in glorious sunshine and drank some more alcohol to wash down a fabulous burger. Would definitely visit again.
One of my favourite Deben inns. Great seating inside and out, staff are friendly and offer great service. Service was slightly slower than normal when I visited but that's to be expected on a busy bank holiday Monday. Ordered my food on the website while waiting for someone to come take my order, my starter came quickly but there was confusion in the kitchen as they did not have a ticket for my main and it took around 50 min for that to arrive after my starter.
