About us

Owner Robert Jackson bought the business when it was on it's knees back in 2013. Little by little with the determination of a strong team behind him he's built it up to the successful restaurant it now is.

Head chef Nicola Folwell originally started in the kitchens of The Folly in 1997 where she worked for a previous owner for four years. She then left to raise a family and retuned in 2013 as second chef. She was promoted to Head Chef in 2020 where she has continued to produce amazing food and enhance the reputation of The Folly.

Robert & Nicola are supported by a dedicated team who strive to deliver excellence at all times.

This place is hard to get a table as the food and service is top notch went a couple of weeks ago so booked up for my birthday I tried calf's liver lady time and my god I've never tasted liver like that it was like eating steak , 🥩 beautiful this time I had the duck my god my mouth was drooling well worth the wait and book in advance to avoid disappointment you won't be trust me 🫵 you need yo come 🙂👌👌👌👌🍛🍜🍝

First time at Folly’s and it was amazing! Service deserves 5 stars, polite, friendly. Food was fresh and full of flavours. Whole restaurant is very clean and has lovely atmosphere. We’ll definitely come back.

Celebrated dad's birthday here and was absolutely blown away by the quality of the food. Son had the lamb chops which were I think the dish of the evening, I had the pork belly which was also very well executed. Mash was silky and the gravy bursting with flavour. Bill for 5 of us including wine came to £240, definitely the best food available in the area.

We have been meaning to try the Sunday roast for ages because it had such a good reputation and I have to say it surpassed our expectations. We had some excellent beef with all the trimmings and it really was too much food. The helpings were generous and we could not fault a thing. Even the weather was delightful and we sipped wine afterwards and watched the sun set. Great evening! Thanks to everyone at the Folly.

What a delight! Lovely little pub in traditional style, with gorgeous food offerings. Three courses at £27 (supplemented options available) - duck was beautifully cooked and wine also fabulous. Prompt service, easy booking system. Left very satisfied! Staff helpful, bubbly and friendly.
