About us

He started his business in nearby Lowfield Street, in 1894, with two employees, making horse-drawn vehicles. In 1900, he erected workshops on the south side of Spital Street and, in 1910, added a large single-storey showroom and offices. During the two World Wars, production at Beadles was geared to the war effort, which included making floats for Sunderland Flying Boats.

A fine example of a Wetherspoons pub. Spacious with plenty of room and tables. Ordered via the app and was brought our food and drinks quickly and efficiently. Staff all seemed polite and happy. Stairs to the toilets were quite epic tho!!

Large decorative Spoons, visited for breakfast. Staff were friendly and efficient, good was relatively quick and well cooked. Plentiful and comfortable seating with a quieter area at the back. Very grand staircase to toilets. Parking is the only issue.

It's a spoons, but a lovely one inside. Service was excellent, food was hot and drink was great. Very busy, lucky to get a table.

This is a great place for a pub meal and to relax over conversation. Lots of space, friendly staff, and clean facilities. It had been a few years since I had a proper fish and chips, so I am likely biased. But after the last few years in the Mediterranean and Black Sea, that North Atlantic cod was like manna from heaven. Was it a little oily? Yes! The chips overly large? Yes! The peas mushy? Yes! In all ways, this experience was exactly what you would expect. This is why I looked forward to it from my arrival in Dartford. It was, for me, a memory manifested with friends. One sharp eared staff also recognized my Canadian accent, which honestly confused me. We never think we have one! Good job, I recommend this place if you're ever passing by.
