Awful place. Me and my dad made a booking and turned up, the girl behind the bar ignored us when we walked in and made us waiting for 5/10 minutes serving other people. There is no menus, you have to go up to the bar to see what’s on the menu… you then have to go up to the bar to order and again the girl wasn’t serving us she just kept disappearing in the back. Awful customer service and poor personal skills I would recommend the Steading 10/10 if you’re looking for a pub lunch !!
Had a great burger for lunch here. They are dog friendly. I was also grateful to be able to use the dedicated car park. And the fire was on which made it feel very cosy.
Came here after a long walk, it’s in a great location as there are no other pubs around. It’s unfortunate however that there are no other pubs around. We purchased two pasta dishes and the pasta was not cooked fully and was more hard than soft. This meant that the taste of food was awful and bizarre. Staff spent more time talking to one another than tending to the customers, so beware it may take you sometime to pay your bill. Don’t expect someone to ask if you enjoyed your meal. For the service and quality of food the cost was not worth it, will not be going there again and find it difficult to recommend.
Perfect place to end a pentland hike. This place could probably get away with charging £6+ for a pint but its actually reasonably priced (about a fiver if i recall). They do food also and whilst I havent tried it - it looked very tasty. Hiker/dog friendly - great place to take off your boots and sit near a real fireplace after a long walk.
It was our second time visiting the pub/ restaurant. Once again the couple running the pub were welcoming and very friendly. The food was delicious. I would highly recommend stopping by for some food. Especially on a cold day as the log fire is always burning and welcoming.
