Friendly welcoming staff. Cosy, rustic pub with gastro-menu. We took advantage of the half price deal which made the cost more palatable as I would raise an eye brow at paying £21 for a full price steak pie. In our financially challenging times, that is a high sum for a piece of pie (but it was spot-on).
It's reputation is to be believed. This is a really lovely place. Great atmosphere as well. Food was well cooked and tasted incredible. Can't fault it at all. Will definitely be back.
Location is lovely. Great views from the terrace area. Only visited for a few coffees, while passing on a roadtrip. There was an odd atmosphere in the entrance way. It seemed to function as a staff meeting place. There were 3 members of staff stood there. It was a bit unwelcoming having to walk through them to get to the toilet or bar. The coffees themself were nice. Not unreasonable prices, but of a reasonable quality. Christmas decorations were still up, despite being after January 6th. There were a couple of tables that were in need of clearing, from us entering to leaving. Overall the place looks nice, but could do with some maintenance. Little things need addressing, such as a loose sink in the men's bathroom. I'd certainly return. It's worthwhile nipping in for a coffee or a pint.
Visited this venue a few weeks ago for a roast and it’s was fantastic. I had the lamb which was cooked perfectly. The service was great, a very nice Guinness and even got to see Santa. Top pub in a lovely location.
We got married here last Saturday 2/9/23 & loved every minute of it. Carrie-Anne and all the team are exceptional at what they do. Just one visit was enough for us to book this venue and we are so pleased did. They were on hand with any emails/questions we had- even when I felt I was asking silly questions I was always made to feel that nothing was ever too much trouble. The day ran so smoothly and the staff were absolutely fabulous. We had all the accommodation for our wedding and the rooms were great too. Very clean and decor was lovely, all guests said how much they liked their rooms. All in all a fabulous day & you won't regret choosing The Fleece Countryside Inn as your wedding venue! Thankyou so much!
