About us

We are a traditional village pub located in the village of Hillend just outside Dalgety Bay in Fife. Our bar area is very cosy having two coal fires and an old fashioned feel with lots of wood panelling and rich warm colours. In addition to our main bar area we also have our "back room" where we have a dart board, this room is also used as a venue for our many clubs and can also be used for small functions when booked in advance. Adjoining the "back room" is our conservatory which can be used in conjunction with the "back room" or seperately, it also leads to our beautiful courtyard beer garden which is fully covered and heated in the winter months.

We aim to offer a friendly relaxed atmosphere where people can "step away" from their busy hectic lives and enjoy some friendly banter in comfortable, homely surroundings. We offer a large selection of non-alcoholic and dealcoholised wines, beers and aperitifs alongside a varied selection of draught, bottled and measured alcoholic beverages.

We also welcome our four legged friends as long as they are well behaved and kept on a lead.

We hope to see you soon!

We attended the Hilland Tavern for a family occasion. The hospitality was great and the food that was laid on was excellent. Thank you to all the staff and we loved your two spaniel’s they were adorable. It’s so nice to find such a warm welcome to strangers these days. We will definitely return soon.

One of (if not the only...) the local pubs still present in West Fife still open and surviving the post pandemic and COL crisis that's seen so many stay closed. It's got a well stocked bar with a good range of drinks to offer. It's a stone's throw from Dalgety Bay train station so really easy to get to and from if you live outside the area. The staff are friendly and the service was always good.

Beautiful well-run, traditional pub with polished wood interior. The drinks are reasonably priced and the service is great. The locals are super friendly and welcoming. We really appreciated the spacious TV room at the back of the establishment so that big screens did not interfere with the old time charm of the bar. The outside garden is absolutely delightful with flower pots and blooms adding cheerful ambiance. The only critique is that the view from the back is spectacular yet it is completely obscured by a wooden fence...what a shame. The fence could have been wrought iron, glass or horizontal tensioned wires to preserves this appealing Constablesque vista. The large posters in front and back were just a little obnoxious and detracted from the atmosphere of an otherwise outstanding local pub. Love the fact that the establishment welcomes dogs as well as humans.
