Good location on the harbour. Service team looked bored and disinterested, although not rude or unfriendly. Menu was basic pub grub and average in quality and presentation. My husband really wanted the fresh local seafood, but apparently none was available.
Nice little pub with good atmosphere. The staff were friendly and helpful. Had a few drinks in the evening and came back for breakfast in the morning. The food was good and reasonably priced. Nice view of the bay. Would visit again if in the area.
In this very tired establishment the room photos did not match my experience. The well-meaning staff are over-worked and exhausted. Our room had a door lock that had been attempted to be broken into. See photos. Stained carpets. No bed headboards. Holes in the ceiling. An impressively-sized spider in our shower. Ripped bath mat. Holes in the linoleum, bathroom flooring. No extra blankets; I was so cold that I took down a wool(?) curtain panel and used it for bedding. The next day I requested a blanket and received another duvet which was appreciated. The "reception area" is the size of a small closet, stacked with boxes and who knows what. In three days, I did not see someone in there once. Until the inn can up their game, you may want to stay elsewhere. Wishing them the best-
Seems they are understaffed, which clearly included servers as well as cleaners. Perhaps the least clean of any establishment we visited during our NC500 experience. We ate our lunch which actually was quite tasty, we both enjoyed the food, ignoring if the front of house is this ‘tired’ how are the kitchens. Toilets were a disgrace, black mould on pipe work and a nasty urine stench. Very unlikely to be back
A tired looking establishment which was filthy from top to bottom. The toilets absolutely stank of stale urine and urine was all over the floor. Understaffed and what staff were there were untidy and miserable. A bad selection of drinks and the food that came out didn't look great. I just couldn't get over how misserable and unfriendly the staff were and the smell of those toilets a few feet away from people eating is a concern.
