The quality of the food was terrible. The plates were mad hot so i suspect it was reheated. We both had the small fish and chips. The batter was soggy, the fish did not taste fresh/ was poor quality and the chips were burnt. We left without finishing our meals. The next day we emailed the falcon at hilton to complain. They offered us a free meal for 2 which we politely refused. I thought our digestive systems had been insulted enough. We wont be returning.
We went there on the 18th Dec for a big family meal and it was great. Food is good solid pub food, very tasty, good value. Had the black pudding parmo. Would recommend. Beer selection was good and all the staff were lovely. Goos service. Would recommend.
Came for Sunday lunch a few weeks ago and will definitely be coming again, had a great tasting roast that was beautifully presented and there was barely anyone in so we could sit where we wanted and not be disturbed unlike at the nearby cattle markets such as Anson Farm and Toby Carvery. A well kept secret in a scenic location.
Sorry but we wont be coming again. Orderd a small fish and chips and mushy peas, the batter on the fish was really thick and heavy and wasnt cooked right through as it was still sticky and gooey next to the fish, the fish itself was dry and wasnt very warm. Asked for tartar sauce and didnt have any. Hubby had a Hot Shot parmo he said it looked better than it tasted as it was quite bland. We loved to go to the falcon a lot but over the past few years it seems to have been changing hands, its seems to have gone down the pan. If you look at all other photos of the fish and chips they have sold and look at mine they are similar in shape and thickness. Looking at it i would say the fish was allready batterd when frozen. Sorry if this is long winded but when you think how much it costs to eat out these days and some only go out as a special treat i think IN MY OPINION the Falcon At Hilton can do much better.
Good selection of drinks on the bar, reasonable price. Nice food menu with traditional dishes and some different options. Tasty home cooked fresh food. Attentive staff!
