Went for a dinner. Food very good and service also. The pub has been very tastefully redecorated absolutely in keeping with style. Well worth a visit.. going back for sure
Had an incredible meal here last weekend. Both the fish cakes and the steak were cooked to perfection!! Even the butter was notably yummy. They also have a board which tells you the name and location of all their suppliers. The team seem to really care and it showed in how good the food was.
We had a six person dinner here. Firstly, the bar and restaurant are stylish, comfortable and cosy. There is superb artwork in the main dining area and in other adjacent rooms. The staff were friendly and helpful without being too in your face. The food was good and a good selection of drinks. We all liked the venue and enjoyed our time here.
We had a fabulous break in the Exmoor Forest Inn. We stayed in the family suite, which was extremely comfortable with stylish decor. The staff were very friendly and helpful (and patient with our children!). The food was exquisite and much complimented on by our fellow diners. It was very reasonably priced for the quality too. All in all we couldn't recommend the pub any higher, we will definitely be back. Thank you for a lovely weekend.
This is a very beautiful Rural area popular with local walkers hikers and Naturalist groups. I felt that these people are now overlooked in the new organic up market incarnation of this old Exmoor Inn. All the emphasis when I arrived was on *having a table and dining* . Probably the most money can be made from aiming at accommodating a wealthy clientele but it would be nice if there could be a casual area with a few general use tables and chairs for muddy walkers needing a drink and a simple snack like in the days of the Public Bar. EXMOOR ..says if all, a National Park which means Access for All. I have come across quite a bit of hostility from fellow local walkers to this new Exmoor Forest Inn and reports they have walked in and straight out again because it was an out of place up market Restaurant not an Inn. Having now tried it I found the best thing was the friendly serving girls and the food I had contained a good amount of very tasty meat but I didn't like the "exclusive" vibe.
