Lovely pub and clean accommodation; friendly staff, tasty dinner (especially the pizzas!) and yummy home cooked breakfast. They have an EXCELLENT selection of gin (including from the local area), well worth a try.
Lovely friendly pub which serves excellent home cooked food whose portions were very generous and value for money. We had a very comfortable stay for one night and would highly recommend. If you're passing through Modbury, stop off at this lovely historic pub, you will not be disappointed.
We have visited the Exeter many times. Food is excellent and "home cooked". Fish pie and Chilli were both superb. Service is very good as well. Very dog friendly.

A great night had at the Exeter. A little gem of a village with this sizable pub at its centre. A large and well maintained beer garden to the rear with terraces, very clean throughout and fantastic food (managed to stay whilst they were doing fresh pizza - I'd highly recommend one) The Staff were incredibly helpful and went out of their way to make sure I enjoyed my stay. The room was very comfortable with a good shower & soft towels. Sadly I needed to be away before breakfast was served but the team made me up some sandwiches to collect the following morning. A great pub, great accommodation, really friendly locals and good food & beer. Perfect!
