Came with my boyfriend on a date to spend some time together for our birthday and we were already so disappointed by the time the film had started. We arrived over an hour early to have some food before the film started. The lady who served us was dismissive. We both ordered burgers and drinks. The drinks arrived after 15 minutes which wasn’t too bad. Our food didn’t arrive for 50 minutes. People who had ordered after us received their food first. My boyfriend went to the counter to ask if our order was still being made because we did specify we wanted to eat before the film. The person at the counter said ‘we have a lot of food orders’ and my boyfriend was dismissed again. Our food came out about 5 minutes later, 10 minutes before our film was to start. My order was wrong, I was missing extras from my burger and the bun was covered in sauce which I specifically said I didn’t want on my burger at all. After waiting an extra 5 minutes because I was told they’d bring my burger extras, we’d still heard nothing. We had to chase them again and only then did someone go and bring them out. It was so expensive for such a bad experience. Honestly, would love a refund. Disappointing end to the week and left such a bad taste in my mouth. (Literally). We’d previously had a lovely time here a couple of months ago so it was a real shame. I don’t think we’ll be returning. Can’t afford to spend the money only to have a bad night
This was my first visit to Everyman, Wokingham. The staff were welcoming and helpful. Seating amazing. Loved it. The only Downside was a pervasive smell throughout, including in the cinema, of rancid oil presumably from cooking chips etc. Would be useful to install or use extractor fans and change oil.
I really wanted to give a positive review. We had been really looking forward to viewing a film at Everyman as we’d heard such great things. Unfortunately, that was dashed by the staff upon our visit. We wanted to get some drinks from the bar ahead of going in to see one of the films on show. The barman said he had to go through the drinks he already had on order before he could serve us even though all of them were for people already sat watching films. Surely serving the customers in front of you is higher priority over those of customers who are already sat down. Disappointed we left to go to our seats hoping we could order quite quickly. We managed to order 20 minutes later after multiple staff told us that they couldn’t help us. The facilities at Everyman are great. We were seriously let down by the staff looking after us. Would I come again? Yes, but I would try to ensure I wasn’t reliant on the staff on the night.
We took our little boy for his first trip to the cinema and it didn't disappoint. Star Wars Return of the jedi! The staff were so welcoming and made his first experience a truly memorable one - thank you guys
We had a great evening here, we arrived about 45 minutes before our film to have a few drinks at the bar which had a fantastic atmosphere and played some nice original tunes. The cinema itself was a wonderful experience - we had a 2 seater sofa for our film and the food and drinks that we had ordered at the bar were delivered just before the film started and we were even offered a blanket to make it that extra bit cosy. I don't think seeing a film in an 'ordinary' cinema will ever be as good as Everyman.
