Everyman Newcastle is located in the basement of the Grade II listed Earl Grey House on the prestigious Grey Street in the heart of Newcastle’s city centre. Since the building’s original construction in 1837, it has gone through several transformations – including a department store, tea rooms and most recently “Legends”, a famous nightclub where paparazzi could be found snapping footballers falling out of its doors in the early hours.
Now as Everyman Newcastle, guests can expect to step through the discreet doorway to a rich timber-lined entrance and down a festoon-lit walkway to the welcoming lounge bar and auditoriums. The lounge bar is an open, warm and inviting space with walls lined in walnut panelling, velvet covered seating and parquet flooring.
Tucked under one of the pavement vaults is an intimate nook, the perfect place for a small gathering, holding up to 12 people. A full kitchen offering is available, delivering Everyman trademark burgers, pizzas and snacks.
The cinema features 4 auditoriums; from an intimate 37 seater up to a larger 80 seater, each with their own unique style.

Enjoyable experience. Loved the seats and the fact you can sit and relax with a drink. Prices for food and drinks a bit high but it is a city centre but we had a burger which in itself was nice but very greasy and I can't remember ever leaving chips before. Would go again but need to improve the food if I was to eat there again. Sorry!
Visited Dec 2023 (Next Goal Wins; 6 out of 10). Bar is very nice and decor is very cosy. Screen and sound were top notch and the sofa seating is a great selling point. Price is a little more than I would happily pay frequently but as a treat, very worthwhile. Food ordered at the bar and served to your sofa in the screen during the trailers is a great touch.
What a cinema experience, well worth the price. Comfortable sofas with leg room, side tables, and drink and food served to you there. The staff were great. Well done, Everyman, for making a day out to remember!
Absolutely had a fantastic time here today. Lovely welcome by the staff lovely bar / lounge waiting area. The most comfortable seating and so much leg room. Food was amazing, whole cinema experience was fantastic I would never go back to any other cinema now. No one kicking the back of your seats either !
Nice place. Never been to an Everyman. You can get a beer while you watch a film.. Pulp Fiction quote comes to mind. Watched the new Indiana Jones film after a day at work and it was great. Not too busy and not too quiet. £7.30 for a bottle of beer though! £12 for the ticket. Bit expensive but it’s a nice place so you are paying for the luxury!
