I recently had a short stay at this hotel and was pleasantly surprised by the comfortable, small double in the room I was given, even though I had ordered a single room. The room was kept clean daily, and having breakfast included was a nice touch. The staff was friendly and accommodating, which added to the positive experience. I would definitely recommend this hotel for a comfortable and enjoyable stay.
We were meeting family in town and as there was a rail replacement service that weekend we decided to book a room here. We booked the last room which was a triple bed room.The beds were comfy,there was no noise from the high street and the room was clean with plenty of storage ,kettle and coffee sachets etc. Breakfast was very good and the bar area comfortable and the staff were friendly and efficient. The only bug bear was the small car park and we had to park in the council carpark around the corner and of course pay to park. There are shops nearby to buy anything you may have forgot and places to eat and drink if you want to go out.
My second time here For breakfast and it just got better today,had the full monty and I am absolutely stuffed,it was delicious,requested for extra mushrooms instead of tomato and they did it without hesitation,great service too,will be back again.Thanks to whoever served me plus the chef,and they currently putting up Christmas decorations and it looks beautiful.Thsnk you.
So having ventured to Witham we thought we would grab a bite to eat.. I am so glad we decided to eat here. The building is huge, situated on the corner with pedestrian traffic lights, making it easy to cross the busy main road. Upon entering the main entrance, there was an unpleasant odour (like that of bad drains) however once inside it got better and better and we soon totally forgot that awful smell. The building has to be described as a tardis, so many areas to sit and even an outside area. We sat in an area to the rear. The place is so quirky, so much detail, features and objects to take in (I wouldn't want to be the cleaner) loved the lamps/light fittings especially the cutlery sets and the various hats. The ladies toilets were lovely and clean.. like the various quotes on the walls to read. The menu was vast, plenty to choose from and they even had specials on boards on the wall (some specials were for set days) some great options. The service was prompt, friendly staff. The food... the food was first class.. everyone totally enjoyed their meal. Totally recommend the Homemade Lasagne, The Hunters Chicken, Sizzling Fajitas, the Burgers and the light bite Nachos were huge. The food was cooked to perfection, presented wonderfully and super tasty. We cannot wait to return to try other meals.. good value for money too. We cannot recommend highly enough.. a real treasure...
Website states a family friendly pub. Tonight we were Informed while finishing our meal, 6 of us, that the pub had a no under 18"s allowed anywhere on the pub premises after 9pm. We were going to order desert but had to leave, finish our drinks quickly as it was 8.50pm. We have been several times before and never been told this before. Felt embarrassed as though we were being asked to leave! Not exactly family friendly. Never got to complete our dinner. Not a positive review
