We stayed at the Linden for one night. The room was lovely and clean with a fabulous bath tub! The bed was so comfortable and the breakfast was delicious. The staff were friendly and very accommodating. I highly recommend!
Unfortunately I had to cancel my travel due to unforeseen circumstances at work. I contacted the hotel by the same email address they used to say that I wasn’t able to travel I understand they took payment for one night as I notified them the same day, but they took payment for both nights saying they never received the email (i provided them a copy/photo of the email and it clearly stated the time it was sent). I also tried to phone them 4 times throughout the day, but they did not take the phone.
We stayed overnight here for a wedding in the area and cannot fault the hotel or its staff. Staff were so helpful and allowed us to check in an hour early so we had somewhere to put our bags and didn't have to rush around to check in later on. Room was quiet and comfortable with a very soft bed. Breakfast was perfect and delicious. Very well organised.
We've eaten at the Linden in the past several times before and have always had a lovely meal. The restaurant inside is beautiful and there's a good atmosphere. I'm vegan and over the last 12 months, have enjoyed vegan roasts and main courses at the restaurant. We booked to go today and before going, I double checked the menu on the website which says they're currently offering a vegan roast. When we sat down, we were given a different short menu as to what's online. I asked the waiter to double check the roast was vegan but the chef said it contained butter. I asked if I could have something off the main menu but was told that wasn't an option, I could only order off the short menu. When I said the menu online says they do a vegan roast, he said this must have been out of date. I even showed him the menu in the restaurant. He then said there was absolutely nothing they could offer me at all that was vegan. I was pretty shocked, not only because the chef couldn't even provide me with vegetables/ roast potatoes, but also by the general attitude that they wouldn't even attempt to come up with an alternative, there was also no apology. Plus, it is very frustrating that the menu online isn't up to date, because if it had been, we wouldn't have even gone to the restaurant in the first place. It is incredibly easy to make a vegan nut roast, and the fact that the chef can't provide vegetables and roast potatoes or even a bowl of chips suggests he's either too obstinate to cater for all dietary requirements, or a complete amateur in the kitchen. Either way, due to the attitudes of both the chef and the restaurant manager, we won't be returning to the restaurant and my mother in law who visits frequently and stays in the hotel will no longer be doing so!
Stayed here Saturday in room 6. An amazing room with a balcony. Comfy bed, lovely rainfall shower, nice and quiet. Breakfast was cooked to order and was amazing. Staff were lovely.
