This place is a hidden gem. I had the grilled seabass with chorizo fricassee. My hubby had the t-bone steak. The chef is worthy of a Michelin star my fish and fricassee was perfect. Thank you. If you can go you won't be disappointed. Parking outside. Lovely little village. Hubby said steak was good. For £15 for my fish that's fab value. It was mother in laws birthday so the one chef had to cook for table of 9 people. The battered cod and skin on fries are amazing. Was a little wait 30 mins but that's fine the pub was warm and fire burning people very welcoming. Definitely coming back. Thank you.

A nice relaxed country pub. Perfect to cycle to in order to enjoy lunch and a pint on a sunny day.

Cycled from Hanningfield Reservoir to taste the Thai food so frequently mentioned on here and it was worth the tired legs! Pleasant outdoor seating area to watch the world go by - beer, starter and main for £17, bosh. A variety of food on offer with a few options to consider from the set menu. Friendly staff and excellent standard of food on offer, I recommend that you give it a go 👍.
