Welcome to the New Inn, Roydon.
We’re the village pub with a warm welcome for everyone. There are warming log fires in winter, and a lovely beer garden and play area for the summer. It’s easy to find us.
As you may have guessed, we are not really new any more. Our pub is 200 plus years old, and has kept its traditional character.
Your host Mary Snell: 30 years at the New Inn
Your host, Mary Snell, has been landlady of the New Inn for 30 years. She originally came in the early 1990s intending to stay for just 6 months, but she liked it so much she has stayed ever since.
In January 2023 she was presented with an award for her contribution to the pub and to the Roydon community. She says “Roydon is such a friendly village and I feel fortunate to have a pub here.”.

Went to a funeral in The New Inn. Food and service was excellent good send off to a great friend
Absolutely fantastic lovely place and food really lovely staff
Food overpriced greasy junk. Waitress very friendly, attentive and good service. £16 for a few fried fishy balls greasy chips and salad is a joke. AVOID My friends chicken wrap was horrid and we both fell ill afterwards. Hoummus and pitta tasted of lamb fat.. very weird. AVOID
Aug 2023- great garden with dog. Great food. Serviced got, fresh and good portion. Friendly staff.
Cute little bar. We had few beers after a kids party. Then we had a Cosy dinner in the front bar. Beers were great, locals and usual beers so plenty of choice. THe dinner was amazing. I had liver and bacon with vegs. OMG the liver was perfect so tasty and big portions. Six of us everyone was very happy.
