A Truly Outstanding Country Pub With Six Real Ales, Fantastic Wines And Delicious Home Cooked Food. Epping in bloom winner 2014 great playarea for children.
Iain and his team invite you to Theydon Oak where you will always find a warm welcome….. and much more. Nestled in the heart of picturesque Epping Forest beside the ancient village of Coopersale. A grade II listed building, it has been standing for over four centuries. Renowned far and wide for fine beers, excellent home cooked food and for an atmosphere which has to be experienced to be fully appreciated.
My colleague at work invited me for a country walk and Sunday pub roast, and being from Australia I couldn't have had a better experience at the Theydon Oak in Epping. The Sunday roast was delicious, great portion and value for money. The pub itself was quintessentially British and a great country pub for every occasion with the loveliest staff. Would recommend to any local or visiting patron.
A nice little pub with a good atmosphere and friendly staff. The food is good and reasonably priced. An honest establishment worth a visit if you like a more traditional pub.
Brilliant country pub that does a great Sunday Lunch. Good selection of Ales.
Good unpretentious food, cooked and seasoned well. It was lovely to turn up late after calling ahead and get a really warm welcome from the young women at the bar. They are a credit to the owners. The table next to us were pretty rowdy and that, combined with the music from the kitchen made it difficult to hear our conversation BUT the way the pub looks, covered in brasses, pans and all sorts of old English objects, together with the general atmosphere made it a genuinely happy visit. Would definitely recommend and we'll be back on the way to Norfolk from London.
Amazing place! It’s 500 years old and the atmosphere is stunning. Food was great and portions were enormous. Staff are friendly and did everything possible to help and make us feel special. Sure it will be one of my favourite restaurants in the future.
