Celebrated New Years Eve 2022 & 2023 here with friends. We had an absolutely fantastic time on both NYE's. Awesome live music frim the band Solar9. We danced all night. Great atmosphere with friendly people. They have Live music every weekend, throughout the year. Would totally recommend 🎶⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️👍🏼
A fantastic live music bar experience on a weekend, with a different band every week to see. The beer choice is immense, not just Fosters or John Smiths here, my friend. The staff behind the bar and at the door are always friendly & welcoming.
Always have a good night here when there's a live band on playing music that I enjoy. The style of band varies so it's worth googling them and watching a few YouTube videos before you go. Prices aren't stupidly high for drinks, two spirit and mixers plus a bottle of cider was about £14. Plenty of bar staff. The only thing I'd change is adding a few patio heaters. I don't smoke myself but often go out with friends who do and in the colder months some heat would be appreciated!
It's one of the better pubs in Braintree quite large, great to watch football (my team West Ham United) and live bands and a big outside space also! Recommended!
A short while ago, myself and a few friends attempted to go to The Boar’s Head for an evening but unfortunately the security declined to let me in after inspecting my ID, with them claiming it was an unconvincing fake (specifically it was “too thin” apparently). This would be completely fair enough if it was indeed a fake but the fact is that I am 22 years old and have held this very real ID for several years. To clarify, I have no problem with having my ID checked (check 25 and all that) but I do take issue with being turned away despite having a real ID. If nothing else, it just suggests that the security staff can’t tell a real ID from a fake one.
