Visited on Sunday for the first time. Table was for 5.30pm we sat down and was still waiting to be acknowledged by 6pm. In the end we had to find someone and ask for our order to be taken. Starter was warm and so was my main course which I sent back. Food was returned about 10 minutes later but not much warmer. We complained and were told “well we are very busy”. Was not impressed and will not be returning. Would just like to add that I have spoken to the Manager who was very apologetic, she offered me a voucher as a goodwill gesture. I accepted and will re visit the restaurant at a later date
Been going here for 5 yrs. Staff are amazing and love the atmosphere, however considering we paid over £100 for two starters , 2 main and a bottle of red that cost £27.50. Food although still nice was very minimal. Portions have again got smaller, definitely wasnt worth the price we paid . My partner was told he had mushrooms with his, he got 1 mushroom. Feel its more like dine dining than a good pub dinner now. We was in the bar and not the restaurant
Really Lovely place, first time back in 9 years. A couple of Vegan options. They have Oat Milk. I had the Nourish Bowl for main and they prepared toasted granny bread and olive oil to start. Nice comfy seats and cosy. Waitress Peggy was really lovely.
We’ve been visiting the Dukes Head for a number of years and the food has always been great. On our recent visit the food standard was of the usual high standard, however the service was very poor. We were pointed to our table rather than being shown by the manager and we had to ask for our waiter after a 15 minute wait despite numerous attempts to attract a member of staffs attention. We waited a long time for our initial drinks and even longer to place our food order. Although the food was good we would question visiting again due to the poor service. When you’re paying a reasonable amount of money for food you expect more.
A lovely pub for a Sunday roast, plenty of space, including lots of outdoor space. The food was really good and the service pretty good as well. Although the last time we went it was a VERY busy Sunday so the staff were a bit stretched so a little slow but still very attentive. Car parking can be difficult at busy times, there is a car park thats pretty big, just a lot of customers!
