We are situated in an idyllic country setting just 8 miles from Whitby and in a lovely location with beautiful Runswick Bay and Staithes on our doorstep, as well as the North Yorkshire Moors National Park.
Everyone is welcome for dining, including dogs in our bar area.
Food is served between 8am and 8.30pm every day Monday - Saturday 8am - 8pm Sundays.

We have an excellent reputation for food and drink. The Ellerby is the perfect spot to catch up and spend a few hours or celebrate a special occasion.
Our 10 en-suite bedrooms have Sky TV including Sports, free Wifi and luxury touches such as Elemis bath products. All overnight stays include a fantastic breakfast.
Dogs are also welcome in the bar area and we are delighted to welcome 3 of the bedrooms available for dogs.

Visited with extended family after aborting our beach walk due to appalling weather. An extremely friendly establishment to both humans & our dogs. Bailey the resident labby (I think) is a wonderful old boy. Lunch was super. Service was excellent, good quality food, not badly priced & plenty of unfussy choice. Beer tasted good as lines obviously regularly cleaned (my pet hate). We will be back regularly 😁
Didn't stay in a room, just stayed in motorhome in their carpark. Cannot wait to go back and sample something else from the menu. Food was fantastic. Service was fantastic. Very dog friendly. Not often you can go somewhere and fancy almost everything off the menu. What we had was spot on. The couple on the next table who were staying there were just as impressed. Quality.
Just came across this place on a day out driving around North Yorkshire and we are so happy we did. What a delightful place, very good food in a lovely country Inn served by excellent staff. The only down side is we live too far away to become regulars.
We found this place last year, and we were very impressed. We are still impressed. Food absolutely delicious, personnel very attentive, a great vibe. Also dog friendly, which for us is a must & always a bonus. Keep up the great work. See you again Friday 😁😁
Absolutely outstanding place! It was our first ever visit, but it won't be our last. I loved the dog friendly aspect and we got to pat lots of happy pooches in the bar area. Beautiful garden/outside area, especially in the evening. We had such a nice time just sitting out, watching all the wildlife. The room's are very comfortable, with plenty of little extras and spotlessly clean. All the staff are so friendly, polite and attentive. The food was delicious! The Ellerby is situated perfectly for visiting the surrounding bays, we honestly can't wait to stay here again. We highly recommend!!!
