First time visiting the Eight Bells with my parents who have visited pre pandemic. They were impressed with the decoration and beer garden, it was all very nicely done. Been looking for a knockout Sunday roast pub nearby for a long time and this is it. Had the roast beef and every element was perfectly executed which is very rare. Beef was clearly high quality, roast potatoes freshly out the oven, veg very fresh and yorkshire puddings stuffed with beef ragu were a stroke of genius. We arrived at midday for a drink before our booking half an hour later and we were the only ones there, then within half an hour the place was FULL. They were fully booked all the way up to 6pm serving roasts. Service deserves a mention, really friendly staff all clearly motivated by the great things being done in this pub thats had a new lease of life. The only negative were the toilets, which while immaculately clean and hygienic, clearly were the part of the pub left behind in the renovation. Would be great to see them up to the standard of the rest of the pub. Book a table here in advance, its brilliant.

First time at the Eight Bells - visiting on the recommendation of a friend - and was blown away. Visited in the run up to Christmas (22nd Dec). Despite a full house, service was really friendly, efficient and staff very personable - particularly our waitress Amy. Food was really really yummy. Starter: Bread & Scorch Egg Mains: Oxtail (must have - so good!) and fish and chips Dessert: Banoffee (really light after a filling meal, brilliant ratio of crumb to everything else) Would highly recommend if you’re in the area looking for a pub lunch - all ground great atmosphere.

It was a lovely night and it wasn't crowded as it was a Tuesday night. I loved the place Jevington and I used to drive occasionally to see the beauty of nature /South down. Eight bells were on my bucket list and it was good. Loved the beer (obviously it was Longman ) and food was kind of ok actually. One of the customers who was sitting on the side of the pub came to us and told us not to order the main dishes bcoz it's not worth it so we didn't order much but a few. But I did like the service and atmosphere , indeed it was peaceful and it was drizzling outside. I would definitely visit the Eight bells again and next time I would love to sit outside the pub. It was dark when we visited yesterday (Tuesday).

Fantastic pub up a country road. The cider was good, the good was spectacular. The outside seating area gives you a nice view of the sunset as well as the horses on the fields. Would definitely go back here. Tip: get the Bannoffee pudding.

Outside area is pleasant and super dog friendly. Food is so so, potatoes in the roast tasted as if cooked overnight and reheated, not crispy anymore. Yorkshire pudding was dry, also felt like reheated.
