Named after the Master of Revels to Queen Elizabeth I and King James I. Edmund Tylney lived at The Mansion which stood on the site of the present library.
Former Woolworth store, this typical Wetherspoon’s pub provided a good addition to Leatherhead’s drinking scene when it opened in the late 1990s. Edmund Tylney, a Leatherhead man, was Master of the Revels to Queen Elizabeth I. This post had the power to licence plays. Bar area has high tables and chairs, plus a raised area with more comfortable seating. The other half is raised and features a large wooden staircase to a balcony. Glass partitions help make the separate booths light but still private. The height of the interior gives it a spacious feel. Children are allowed in until 9pm if they are eating. Usually 5 or 6 changing beers and they vary regularly.
Spoons #156 on the high street, great to watch rugby in here! Awesome staff, so friendly Kara the manager was so busy all night never stopped serving and clearing tables, inspirational 😎 Very busy, nice staff, accessible toilets on ground floor Other toilets on 1st floor, no parking on site but a short walk to pay and display. Good food at great standards. Lots of screens for watching sport, nice friendly locals
A very nice example of a Wetherspoons. Indoor and outdoor seating. Open fire on the ground floor has a nice atmosphere. Friendly and efficient staff. Clean venue. Food adequate as always. Order through the app for table service.
In a street with Italian restaurants, there were expectations for good Italian food. The duck was very well received, although the pizza were much to be desired. The gluten free base was burnt, and the kids pizza dough looked like there was mold on it. It wasnt, it was a herb, but didn't look like it was intentional. The salad had two boys of mozzarella, maybe they ran out of stock? There were sun dried tomatoes on top of the tomatoes, so I'm not sure what the chef wad trying to do here. No olive oil f for dressing, and a small piece of basil. Certainly, expensive plate just for tomatoes and a bit of mozzarella, avocado, and few olives. More effort is needed for that. The staff were accommodating to directs requirements and children behaviors, although the food was just not meeting the serving standards.
I have been here few times , nice place a lot of old pictures frames hanging on the wall , make you feel like in a posh restaurant. Well maintained. Good atmosphere , great location , plenty of seats, friendly staff.
The breakfast certainly hits the spot every time and over time your waist will grow a little. The great thing about this lovely breaky is you get free refill hot drinks, so you can continue your conversations after your meal. The staff are all welcoming and friendly, they come around and check if the meals are alright and they immediately change and replace your meal if it isn’t the one you ordered. All the customers seem to really feel comfortable and at home at this place.
