Hats off to the barmaid behind the bar today. She has a queue of about six, two for food and the rest for drinks. She was very efficient, calm and delightful to everyone.
The stench of bleach upon entering the pub was unpleasant. The place feels drab and grimey. Clearly, in desperate need of a total revamp.
Staff were friendly, but the tables that we sat at hadn't been cleaned, the toilets weren't great and we ordered a jacket potato, prawns and salad...which turned out to be jacket potato, not sure if it was prawns, a pot of coleslaw and crisps. I had crispy beef salad with chips..but it was crispy beef in a sauce with chips...it tasted ok, but wasn't what I'd ordered.
Awesome food, friendly atmosphere great value. Sorry about the photo, I just wanted to get stuck in! The lamb shank was incredible, falling of the bone with plenty of delicious gravy! Bar area with pool table and darts if your looking to be social. I preferred the more diner friendly tables at the other side, though there is a separate dining/function room if you are looking for something more intimate at the back. Varied menu and helpful staff. Highly recommend.
Lovely village pub with fresh home cooked food, my meal was beautiful and presented well, very reasonably priced
