Booked ahead, weekday lunch for 4. Food is normal everyday pub fare, nothing fancy. That's fine if done well but although quite tasty there was a mixture of warm (not hot) and cold in most dishes, and 1 was served a good 5 minutes after the other 3. Quite expensive. Moderately busy, perhaps there was insufficient staff on. Waitress was nice and smiley.
We've been meaning to visit this pub for years but never got around to doing so. Went here on the spur of the moment and was very pleasantly surprised, a lovely village pub with a fair range of beers available. Great service from the staff and a very interesting menu. Food was very good and a fair portion. Think we'll be going back again soon.
Had our Xmas Lunch today so different from usual menu. Pate and red union chutney was lovely but had a crust of ciabatta that I could not eat as very hard. Turkey came with massive Yorkshire Pudding that made it difficult to manage the rest. Found the turkey a bit dry and in chunks which I don't especially like. Red Cabbage was lovely though. They probably are better with ordinary food I think.
We had the most beautiful meal at the Foresters Arms today. The food is presented in the most amazing way, and tastes excellent. You can really tell how much hard work, effort and thought goes into all of their dishes. The service is also outstanding, thank you to all of the lovely staff that was there today, you really made the family birthday meal a truly great one. The overall atmosphere to the place is wonderful and you are made to feel so comfortable here! We will most definitely be back! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
Visited the Forester Arms on a fully booked Saturday night just after their reopening following their kitchen refresh and everything was absolutely perfect. Despite being very busy, every member of staff was friendly and attentive. We weren’t rushed at all but also not left waiting around at all. Orders taken quickly, drinks arrived promptly and perfect gap between food. The food itself was just as perfect and plentiful as always. I went for the avocado and sweet potato starter, a combination I hadn’t thought of before but pairs together deliciously. Then had the monk fish tails for main and it was the best monk fish I’ve ever had. Cooked so perfectly, it melted in the mouth but still had plenty of flavour. Husband went for a refreshing chicken salad and again, chicken cooked so well, flavour but moist. This really is the perfect place for a nice dinner, family friendly and there always seems to be locals (and their dogs) who all know one another but you’re not left feeling like an outsider for not being a ‘regular’ - hard balance to strike and this place manages it perfectly.
