The Buxted Inn is a modern British restaurant and bar with 8 en-suite letting rooms. It is situated in the heart of the picturesque East Sussex countryside, in the village of Buxted near Uckfield.
Ideally located just a 1-minute walk from the train station, it is very easy to get to from the surrounding towns of Uckfield and Crowborough and just an hour from London on the train.
The Buxted Inn has 8 stylish modern en-suite bedrooms, all either double or twin. The rooms are equipped with high pressure digital showers, king sized beds, comfy anti-allergy bedding, a desk, an in room safe and complimentary Novus teas, coffee and bottled water. Whether you are looking for a weekend country escape, travelling on business or visiting one of the many attractions and venues in the county The Buxted Inn is an ideal place to base yourself
Our kitchen produces a regular changing seasonal British menu focusing on the great local produce the area has to offer. We aim wherever possible to source all our produce from within 25 miles of the restaurant; this not only means we are getting them as fresh as possible but it also helps us look after our environment. We work with 6 local farms and the kitchen team and owner are often found picking the best of the crops in the surrounding fields. In the warmer months a lot of the herbs and vegetables you find on the plates are grown in our own garden. Whether it is a light lunch for 2 or extravagant dinner celebration, we are confident you will not be disappointed if you eat with us.

Is this place closed 24/7 or something? Each and every time I have called it has just rang out, no answer, just an automated messaging machine which isn’t any use when you’re actually looking to speak directly to a person! What a way to lose business. The owner claims I have the wrong number as they apparently do norm have an answering machine, yet the answering machine clearly says “the buxted inn” and is the same number written on their website. I will not remove my review as it is factual and other potential customers deserve to know that they will not be able to get through to a human via the phone.
The boss forces staff that are sick to still work and handle food even after the staff have requested to have the day off as to not potentially infect other staff members or customers. I will not be eating from here again as I do not wish to risk being made ill by a member of staff who should of been allowed the day off to recover amen not infect staff or customers.
Great little inn , staff very friendly and helpful which was appreciated as we ran late they let us get a takeaway and eat it in their premises . Only thing that I wasn't happy with was the bed it's needs a new mattress I got no sleep and as a result was very tired for my daughter's wedding the next day . If the bed had been comfortable I'd be back .
We were able to have an evening meal which was amazing!! We had breakfast next morning which was very tasty with a good selection to choose from. The waitress was very friendly. The room was clean with nice décor. The only let down for us was the bed had such a hard mattress. It was not a very good sleep for the both of us. The only reason a star has been dropped.
I'm sure others have a better experience, but our room was right at the front of the building directly on a busy road. and our overnight stay was ruined by a window that wouldn't properly close. No sleep at all to be had as a result. Generally, someone has obviously spent a good deal of cash updating the rooms in the not too distant past with many luxury touches, but the decor and facilities are now fading. It was also disappointing that no vegan options at all were available for breakfast.
