Only went to see a guy I know who is an Elvis Tribute Act ... Nice enough little place, good atmosphere, car park a short walk away that is free from 7pm. Would definitely go back!
Doesn't serve food, but a great open fire wintertime, good bar garden overlooking the cricket field ....at an angle! Pool table & live music soon night's, jukebox other nights older crowd....more if a locals pub.
Found by chance while visiting the area, and have to say it was a stroke of luck. Friendly staff, great service and an excellent drinking area outside at the rear overlooking the cricket ground. We really liked the place as it was quirky and a tad old world feel. Definitely worth visiting if you like a quiet spot.
If I were a scholar in the English, or any other, language, there still wouldn't be enough words to explain what an absolute, depressing, dirty, decidedly archaic hole of Schmitt this place is. Unless you have a 1945 to 1965 obsession for misery then this place has no redeeming qualities . Oh and the landlord, well, I don't want to have personal jibes at another human being, but he truly wouldn't understand the basic words that I would use.
An amazing atmosphere on bonfire night. Drummers from the procession played into the night.
