Hasting's best kept secret: the Old Town's friendliest local
Our 16th Century pub can be found at the top of picturesque All Saints Street - the oldest residential street in the heart of Hastings Old Town.
Beamed ceilings and rustic floorboards are complemented by twinkling lights, cosy interiors and a welcoming bar. Our entertainment is a mix of traditional and contemporary, with live bands at the weekend, trad sessions throughout the week, and a host of special events throughout the year.
We have the Old Town’s largest pub garden and it is a summer delight, with three tiers of seating and attractive planting. In the colder months we have log fires and winter food to keep you toasty.
We are an especially dog-friendly pub; they have their own treat jar and are guaranteed a cuddle and fuss from the hosts.

An absolutely outstanding pub! I recently had the opportunity to attend a private event hosted in this incredible place, and what an amazing time it was! I moved over from the States to Suffolk about 5 months back, so I am still exploring England and its pubs. We had the luck to enjoy the Stag Inn on a recent trip to Hastings to celebrate a friend's 40th birthday. I loved the way they handed out drink coupons for party guests to get us started. I need a bit of a nudge as I'm not much of a drinker, so sidling up to the bar and picking out something I know I'll like is vastly preferable to a tub of beers on ice or house wine. The atmosphere was fun and festive, the decor and artifacts on the walls were incredibly cool, and the patio was so warm and welcoming with blankets and a nice cosy private space out back. The landlord and landlady of the pub were also super kind and hospitable to our family including our dog who loved hanging out in the pub all day. This is absolutely in the top tier of pubs I have visited since moving over to England this summer. I really love the ones with rich history and fascinating artifacts, especially when they come with kind and attentive service and a comfortable atmosphere. This ticks all the boxes and made for a memorable weekend away for our whole family, furbaby included. What an awesome venue to hire for an event!
Worth a walk up All Saints Street (a beautiful road in the old town with eclectic mix of houses dating back centuries) to visit this charming 16th century pub. Proper 'oldy worldy' Inn with lovely fireplace, great atmos and interesting artefacts (including mummified cats!...apparently tradition to place inside a wall to keep evil spirits away). Service from Rebecca was warm, friendly and welcoming. Didn't have food as stopped for a few drinks only, but menu did look excellent (and lamb, rosemary & garlic crisps were amazing). Definitely coming back!
This pub is absolutely fabulous, quietly located in the All Saints, it is the oldest pub in Hastings dating to c. 1547 with a well preserved building. The staff here is very friendly, it is chill and peaceful here, the garden is like a hidden treasure. Don’t miss the cat mummies, they are related to an interesting history of witches and rat controls in the town back in the 17th century.
Really tasty dishes, beautiful composition, fair prices for fair portions. Amazing service too, great taste of music in background. Great quiet and vintage location
Excellent pub with unbelievable quality food. A variety of menu options that are very high quality and taste superb. I ahve eaten here a few times and the food is great. Very good service and the team are very helpful and friendly. Real traditional pub and large open beer garden. Lots of delicious desserts too!
