Super simple traditional boozer. Won't be too everyone's taste but if you want a good real ale in an old style pub (and can pay cash) it's will worth a look.
What a great hidden gem (to me). Great pint of real ale. And really friendly landlord and fab beer garden. 👍 👍 👍
A hidden back street gem, so glad places like this still exist, reminds me of the pubs when I was a nipper. Traditional as it gets, a pleasant step back in time. If you want to see what a proper unspoilt old school pub looks like this place is well worth a visit. Reasonably priced beer and a nice atmosphere. Landlord is a top chap, very charismatic and welcoming. Will be visiting again.
Looks can be deceiving. On the outside it's easy to miss it walking by, looking like a couple of adjoining houses. On the inside is an unspoilt interior and warm welcome from the landlord serving well kept ales. A place to escape from the pressures of the modern world, for quiet contemplation (or for the folk style music played by locals on Thursdays and Sundays). An absolute gem of a pub.
A pub trapped in the mists of time. It’s like stepping back to the 1850’s. Proper ales are served from the famous Kent Brewery. Richard the landlord offers great service and is a wealth of knowledge. Legend says he is 256 years old. I Only popped in to use the loo and I’m still here 20 years later ...
