About us

Purchased from Enterprise Inns In 2011 the Black Lion is a grade 2 listed building set at the 'top of the hill' in the seaside village of New Quay, West Wales. Its stands overlooking the bay just minutes walk down to the harbour.

After purchase, the property was closed to start full renovation work throughout, re configuring the existing interior of the building, adding an extension to make a sea facing dining room, bringing the hotel rooms into the 21st century with crisp white bedding and a modern feel, finally reopening the public bar area In March 2013, and the hotel a few weeks later, this is where the Black Lion started and where it is today.
