The Duke of York is just outside Stockport town centre on the A6 heading towards Buxton. It has well-appointed en suite letting rooms and an enclosed courtyard to the rear, which is a real suntrap in the summer.
Duke of York, has a great selection of quality real ales, with housing Robinsons award-winning ales; TROOPER, Wizard, Double Hop and Robinsons Smooth. We also stock Guinness, Carling, Budweiser, Stella Artois and Strongbow. You will also find an eclectic choice of wines spirits and soft drinks.
I cannot say enough good words about Martin and his Amazing Team at the Duke of York. We held my father’s wake here and the staff could not have been more accommodating or kind. Martin was the perfect t host and thought of everything. The food was incredible and all our guests had nothing but great things to say about the spread! We had some odd requests related to my dad that they were able to fulfill and even allowed us to play a photo montage throughout the wake on the pub TV. This place will always now hold a piece of my heart and I would like to recognize Martin and the team for such a wonderful job. Their kindness, thoughtful attention to detail will never be forgotten. And it’s also a great place to just go and have a drink! Thank you Duke of York!
Absolutely loved this little hotel, we booked last minute and was welcomed really warmly. Staff are ace and the customers was also welcoming. Defiantly stay here again rooms are spacious and comfortable with tea and coffee provided which was nice for the price. The beer garden is surprising big and nicely done. Thank you 😊
We stayed here and it was a fab little place in Stockport. Martin thr manager was extremely helpful and made us feel welcome and comfortable. Really recommend stayinf here if you need a room and a great pint. Dog friendly is a plus too. Thanks Martin and see you again!
Martin and his staff couldn't have done more when we held my brothers wake in the Duke. They were so kind and compassionate and bent over backwards to ensure everything ran smoothly. The catering was excellent and the bar service outstanding. They took great care of not only the close family but everyone who attended. It has become our local now and we couldn't recommend it highly enough. Great surroundings both indoor and out and a super atmosphere. The real fire is a nice touch especially on cold evenings.
Love this pub, the staff are so lovely! I pop in here on a regular basis, everyone is so welcoming and the food is spectacular! The fire is always roaring and a great range of drinks, this is my dogs fave spot! He pulls on the lead to go in! They’ve also just added a games console, which is a real laugh!!
