Traditional country pub with campsite
Fantastic roast dinner and generous portion of treacle sponge for dessert. Lovely atmosphere and location. Service was great too. Thank you.
We stayed at the camp site situated at the rear of the pub for the New Year, and we had a meal with our 2 dogs on New Year's Eve. The food was great and the facilities on the site were nice and warm and clean
Stopped by for a bite to eat in September. The beer was crystal clear. Hospitality was great. The food was to die for. The burger ( black and blue) was out of this world. Will definitely be back again next time we visit the peaks. Thanks for a fantastic meal!
Whilst camping locally we decided to pop in for an afternoon meal after a walk, the service from the staff was excellent from start to finish even though they were short staffed there was no waiting for drinks, food or the table to be cleaned. The food itself was well priced and with a decent variety too and will definitely be back, which we did the following day for Sunday lunch, which again was a great meal for the 2 of us and was perfectly cooked. We'll be back that's for sure.
After looking forward to a nice Sunday lunch can only say how disappointing it turned out. After asking about the starter ordered the soup, it arrived nice and hot but not what I ordered. My wife ordered garlic mushrooms but again not as expected. The main arrived, again very poor quality. 3 of the tiniest roast potatoes, mash spread over the plate, and the roast beef was covered in thin oily gravy, the gravy actually covered the meat. As for the veg, not enough for one person never mind 2. The staff were friendly, but let down by the food they were having to serve.
