At the Duke of Wellington you’ll find a variety of great value pub favourites on the menu, plus our favourite steaks, meat combos and burgers.

Our amazing range of beef steaks are our speciality and are matured for 35 days, seasoned with salt, cracked black pepper and oil before being flame-grilled just the way you like them.

All of our steaks are served on a hot iron skillet to keep your meal hotter for longer and sizzling all the way to your table.

If you dare, take on our Flaming Food Challenges like the Flaming Challenge Burger, the gigantic 32oz ‘Bulls Head’ Steak, scorching Hot Hot Hot! Challenge or the mighty Trash Can Challenge. If you defeat the meat we’ll put your name and photo on our “Wall of Flame”.

The staff were very friendly and approachable, especially engaging well with our 2 year old and making her very welcome. The only real negative was when the 2 year old needed a wee and asked her daddy to take her he found the disabled toilet seat was cracked and male toilets weren't very clean and asked me to take her instead.

It boggles my mind that you guys can run this business yet do not know how to replace the battery in your malfunctioning burglar alarm. This alarm has been blaring over and over again for the past several weeks at night. This is truly appalling. Hundreds of people—old and young, and very young, healthy and no so healthy, and very frail—are now denied the essential need to sleep through the night. How dare you!

Booked a table for Sunderland v Newcastle. Table provided was first class, right in front of the big screen. The lady working behind the bar greeted us and explained fully how the day would work with no coffee being served to help keep the flow of drinks going, completely fair. Food ordered on the app and arrived quickly despite the bar being packed. Viewing experience of the match was superb with volume up and all screens in sync so no delays spoiling the game. Top class service from The Duke.

I'm updating my review and adding one star, as in my second and third visit I had other dishes and they were way better than sandwiches. Grill meat is amazing, nachos and lasagna as well! You guys got one star more from me :) It's a nice place, big parking space, nice dinning area and big pub menu, they are also dog friendly. My only complaint is that food pictures in menu are really different to reality. I will repeat in that place for sure an may change the stars
