Came for the cavery. Service was brilliant, very friendly and welcoming. The food was excellent and great value, 3 of us had the carvery and my mother in law had the veggie curry. High praise indeed that she finished it, as she's very picky but thoroughly enjoyed it. Parking is available for free, further round the back. Booking a table is recommended, as it's our first time here but can see every table is taken. Overall great value, great service, great food. Would recommend
Just come back from the Downs, Sunday carvery. Lovely as always, just a lovely relaxed atmosphere, it's lovely for the children, my grandson loves to go there. Food beautiful, staff lovely. We always enjoy going there.
Just took the family to thd Inn for Sunday lunch. Top quality food, great choice of vegetables to accompany the choice of three meats, on this occasion beef, turkey and pork. Yorkshires to die for. We also had sweets, from a good variety of types. The carvey fir what we had I thought was value at £14.95. Thanks for today it was appreciated.
Great for gluten free. I went with a group last week for a carvery meal and the Down had prior warning, and I confirmed when I arrived. They made a point of using clean carving tools when I got to that point, and cutting from the untouched side of the meat. Also they warned me to avoid roast potatoes and parsnips because of their coating, and brought out dishes of uncoated vegetables just for me. The gravy was GF for everyone and delicious gluten free puddings were available, like steamed treacle pudding! Brilliant. I can't comment about rooms as I didn't stay over.
Hubby's birthday so wanted to treat him to nice carvery. Lovely place. Carvery looked good, nice selection of vegetables. Unfortunately the meal was cold hence we were only in the pub for 30 mins. Server asked if everything OK. I told her it looked nice but was cold. She never offered to heat it up but said she would tell the chef. We could see her from our table and she never did tell anyone until about 10 mins before we left. No mention of it or offer of reduction in the bill when I paid. Very disappointing. 🙃
