We first opened the doors at the Loders Arms in September 2017. Mike heads up the kitchens and Gill runs the fronts of house.
Our daily changing boards showcase the best of local produce alongside British pub classics from our burger menu, to ham, egg & chips, steaks from the grill and traditional fish and chips.
Alongside our regular Sunday Roasts we serve food from noon until 5pm on Sundays.
We ate on a Saturday lunch for a big family dinner! Incredible food, fresh local produce and all home made. I had the pate to start followed by the sausage and mash. Homemade focaccia toast, rich buttery pate. Thick flavourful sausages and the mash was out of this world! Highly recommend. Beautiful surroundings, decor modern yet cosy country style! Staff were adorable. Thank you! Highly recommend xxxx
My husband said this was the best roast he'd ever had in a pub and I don't disagree. The roast meat was itself delicious as well as all the trimmings. Good price as well. Pub itself has a lovely cosy atmosphere and service was spot on. Shame we were only in Dorset for the weekend as we would definitely visit again.
Recently refurbished pub, good for drinks and socialising. Dog friendly. Welcoming. However, there was a very limited menu with pretentious ingredients such as malfatti and clafoutis. I overheard the neighbouring table asking what the terms meant, and sounding embarrassed, which seemed unnecessary in a local village pub. Even the owner didn’t know and had to ask his wife! Napkins were tired and grey and looked like my mother’s old dishcloths, ready to be binned. Maybe trendy, but something fresh, or colourful would be an improvement, in my opinion. Went with the semi dead flower on the table. I had the Mackerel Caesar Salad, which had a bit of lettuce and fried anchovies on top, (nothing else) as a main course my friend had sea bass. Including one desert and two medium glasses of wine. £60. The portions were served on breakfast sized plates, but were pleasant. Overcharged for the wine, probably an error, and rectified when I noticed. Disappointed after reading the glowing write ups. Will continue to look for a good local…..
We have been meaning to go to The Loders Arms for some time now after hearing such amazing things since the new owners have taken over. We travelled 40 minutes to get there and we were not disappointed, what a fantastic place and well with the trip. The owners are so lovely and accommodating and the pub itself is stunning and the attention to detail can be seen all around the place. We felt so welcome and the place itself has such a lovely vibe and atmosphere, we didn't want to leave. Thank you so much for a first class experience, we would highly recommend and we look forward to seeing you again very soon.
We Arrived 35 minutes before closing on a Sunday evening. We stopped overnight in the carpark in our van. The landlord greeted us with with true hospitality, (like an old friend) We sat in the garden drinking some fine Beer. The village was truly beautiful, we had a lovely stay,m In our white Van
